2008 Will Be Just A Second Longer
On Dec. 31 this year, your day will be just a second longer.
Like the more well-known time adjustment, the leap year, a "leap second" is tacked on to clocks every so often to keep them correct.
Earth's trip around the sun - our year with all its seasons - is about 365.2422 days long, which we round to 365 to keep things simpler. But every four years, we add 0.2422 x 4 days (that's about one day) at the end of the month of February (extending it from 28 to 29 days) to fix the calendar.
Likewise, a "leap second" is added on to our clocks every so often to keep them in synch with the somewhat unpredictable nature of our planet's rotation, the roughly 24-hour whirl that brings the sun into the sky each morning.
Historically, time was based on the mean rotation of the Earth relative to celestial bodies and the second was defined from this frame of reference. But the invention of atomic clocks brought about a definition of a second that is independent of the Earth's rotation and based on a regular signal emitted by electrons changing energy state within an atom.
In 1970, an international agreement established two timescales: one based on the rotation of the Earth and one based on atomic time.
The problem is that the Earth is very gradually slowing down, continually throwing the two timescales out of synch, so every so often, a "leap second" has to be tacked on to the atomic clock.
The International Earth Rotation and Reference Systems Service is the organization that monitors the difference in the two timescales and calls for leap seconds to be inserted or removed when necessary. Since 1972, leap seconds have been added at intervals varying from six months to seven years - the most recent was inserted on Dec. 31, 2005.
In the United States, the U.S. Naval Observatory and the National Institute of Standards and Technology keep time for the country. The Naval Observatory keeps the Department of Defense's Master Clock, an atomic clock located in Washington, D.C.
The new extra second will be added on the last day of this year at 23 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds Coordinated Universal Time - 6:59:59 pm Eastern Standard Time.
Mechanisms such as the Internet-based Network Time Protocol and the satellite-based Global Positioning System (GPS) depend on the accurate time kept by atomic clocks.

Will Be Back Soon
Well first of all, I am very sorry for updating my blog for more than one month.
Doing industrial training wasnt as what I thought it would be. At least the first 2 departments I was posted wasnt that bad. The last department is the worst and God help me, I really dont know how am I going to answer all the HOD's questions.
So the whole blame goes to industrial training for not updating my blog. Hehehe.
Well anyway all this will be over end of this month and I will be back updating my blog more often. Thats all I want to say now I guess. I do have a topic to write about, but as usual I am quite lazy to type it. Anyhow I will try my best to do something about the topic. Hehehe.

Bored & Lonely.....
Its been exactly 1 month since I posted the last entry. What to do life's very busy with training. And only today I had the mood to write.
So for the past one month my life was just okay only. I definitely prefer my old college life - though its quite bad hehehe - to the working life I am going through now.
Why???
-First of all its very very tiring to work non-stop for 8 hours. At least in college I still do have 2-4 hours break in between classes so that I can take a short nap.
-Second, I am not paid even a small amount of allowance for working. Which literally means I am working for nothing. In fact I am paying the to work there instead of them paying me. Enna kodumai ithu!!!
-Third, I had a tough time finding a suitable place for accomodation. Damn college didnt have a house or hostel ready for us. We - my friends and I - had to find a place to stay all by ourselves. Well for that I should thank my friends for finding a place to stay, although we did have some conflicts regarding this issue.
So far this are the reasons why I still prefer my college life. Well anyway I am learning quite some things in the working place. Its sometimes hard to believe that I am working, especially not for money but for 30% in my finals. What a miracle. Hehehehe.
Well if I want to talk about the training I can do so for the whole day, but I have no mood to do so. So lets go to the next part of my life.
So why do I write now if I didnt write for past one month. Well thats because its weekend today and I am alone in my room. I dont have anything else better to do. Normally I will be in my aunt's house during weekends but this week for a change I wanted to stay in the rented house. Its not that bad after all, - staying alone I mean - although I am quite lonely but I am lonely even if I stay in my aunt's house. So it doesnt make a difference where I stay. I am lonely. Hehehe.
Ya I know I am crapping some rubbish up there. I tend to do so when I am lonely. Hahahaha. Well what to do, when I got nothing to do and no one to disturb, I often think about things that are not worth thinking. What are things that not worth for me to think - you may ask.I ts something that happened in the past. I was really forgetting it but when I turn out to be lonely last few days, the memories that I am trying to erase from my life seem to haunt me back.
Hey I feel my English is improving, thanks to the novels I read. Hahaha. Hmmm. Wow its the first 'hmmm' I am using in my post. Hehehe. Well I dont know whats wrong with me. Anyway I guess I better stop now or I will keep going!!! Hehehehe.
So see you all in another entry ( Probably afyter one month). Hehehehe.

Worst Day of My Life
If i were to talk about the worst day of my life, then it would be today! What a hectic day. Never been this exhausted before.
So let me say why its the worst day. Yesterday i came to KL because my semester break has ended. Ya 2 weeks flies very fast. This new sem, i will have to go training in Gribbles, so i wont be in my miserable college. So when i arrived at KL, my aunty fetch to her house. The next day, which is today, i m supposed to go to my college to register myself.
So here comes the worst day of my life!! Early morning my aunty dropped me at the nearest KTM station. So i took a komuter n reached my college around 11am. I was supposed to meet my HOD to collect my registration form, i went to his office and i got to know that he wont be in his office till 2.30pm. I was really......Haizzz dunno what to say.
So i decided to collect my results first. Thank God atleast the result wasnt bad. Then i had no idea what to do. I joined my seniors and was chit chatting wif them till 12.30pm. After using all my energy to chit chat i was hungry. Time to fill up my stomach, So i bought lunch and followed my seniors to their room. In their room i had lunch and a short nap. Hehehehe. Then around 2.15pm i went to my HOD's office and registered.
After all done i took a komuter back and i was waiting for a bus to go back to my aunty's place because she wasnt able to fetch me. So i took the bus, i mean the right bus but i missed my stop. Although its been 1 year since i m travelling from Penang-KL-Nilai i m still not very familiar with KL, thats because i normally take train n LRT so i dunno anything bout the buses. So back to my story, When i realized i missed my stop i got down in a bus stop , crossed the road and waited for another bus.
When that bus came i got up la. Again i missed my stop- how stupid and ignorant i m- but somehow i manage to get down the next stop. So i m required to walk to my aunty's house and the best part i dunno the direction. So i started panicking but thank God i manage to calm down and i called my bro.
Well he is really a caring bro la. He told me not to worry and juz get a taxi and go where i want to go. But i was thinking why must i get a taxi when i m only juz ahead of one stop. Wheni missed my stop i was observing where the bus was going, so i told myself, juz walk and i will reach the place i wanna go. follow instinct la. So i also walked like 0.5 -1km.
At last my walk has paid off. lucky my instinct was right, if wrong only God knows. Hehehehe. I reached my aunty's taman. I was so happy. Oh my God words juz cant describe how relieved i was when i reached her house. I promise i will never take public bus alone again. Haizzzzz so that all bout the worst day of my life.
Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day, but i dun think so. I need to move to my rented room tomorrow and i dunno what is the condition of the house i m gonna rent cause only my friends saw the room and they said its extremely small. Whatever it is i can only decide tomorrow after seeing it with my own eyes.
I better go and take a short nap now. So see you. Bye bye.

So let me say why its the worst day. Yesterday i came to KL because my semester break has ended. Ya 2 weeks flies very fast. This new sem, i will have to go training in Gribbles, so i wont be in my miserable college. So when i arrived at KL, my aunty fetch to her house. The next day, which is today, i m supposed to go to my college to register myself.
So here comes the worst day of my life!! Early morning my aunty dropped me at the nearest KTM station. So i took a komuter n reached my college around 11am. I was supposed to meet my HOD to collect my registration form, i went to his office and i got to know that he wont be in his office till 2.30pm. I was really......Haizzz dunno what to say.
So i decided to collect my results first. Thank God atleast the result wasnt bad. Then i had no idea what to do. I joined my seniors and was chit chatting wif them till 12.30pm. After using all my energy to chit chat i was hungry. Time to fill up my stomach, So i bought lunch and followed my seniors to their room. In their room i had lunch and a short nap. Hehehehe. Then around 2.15pm i went to my HOD's office and registered.
After all done i took a komuter back and i was waiting for a bus to go back to my aunty's place because she wasnt able to fetch me. So i took the bus, i mean the right bus but i missed my stop. Although its been 1 year since i m travelling from Penang-KL-Nilai i m still not very familiar with KL, thats because i normally take train n LRT so i dunno anything bout the buses. My Review on Kuselan
Well what can i say....The songs gave me an impression that the movie will be good. So much for my impression, the movie was really disappointing.
Well Pasupathy and Meena's acting was really satisfying but not Rajini's. The comedies scenes are very nice but overall the movie wasnt as what i have expected.
One thing, many artists was given chance to act in the movie. Many of them that i m lazy to list them down. Hehehehe. What i like most bout the film is the comedy.
Songs are okay, but Nayanthara's acting was bad. She was very exposive. Probably the producer wanted save cost on her costumes.
As what Rajini have said before his involvement in the movie was less than 50%. I would say the movie's main characters are Pasupathy and Meena.
In my opinion i prefer Dasavatharam to Kuselan. But still i guess this movie will hit box office due to its sentiment scenes and of course not to miss, because of Rajini's die hard fans.
Overall i will say the movie is not worth watching in theatre. Those who are not fans of Rajini probably should wait for the DVD release and watch the DVD. By the way dont buy pirated DVD. Be original, buy original. Hapuskan cetak rompak!!!
