Birthday Celebrations!

Ok let me warn this is an expired post and its freaking long (only proceed if you are willing to take the risk). I know I said no History class on my last entry, but I can’t resist myself from posting this.

I am going to post about my birthday celebrations.

10th January 2012

I was having Mid-Sem on that day. First day some more. So no celebrations. I was in study mode (if you know what my study mode is). Hahahahaha.

I received birthday wishes from my family members, friends and relatives. Thank you people! One wish that touched me was a birthday message from Amma. It was so sweet of her to send me a message. I immediately teared reading her message. Love you lot Amma! Appa was no exception, he gave me birthday gift without me asking (not that I always ask for gift). But despite all this I still felt a bit down on my day. Maybe because I was stress for exam or what, I don’t know!

Part 1

Since I was down, My cousins, Shanker Anne and Priya Akka, invited me to their house. I was actually lazy to go but they insisted that I come. So that weekend, Saturday, I went out with my sister to Sunway Pyramid. I bought a top and a dress with my birthday money from my cousin brother and Appa.

That night my brother took us out for dinner to celebrate my birthday. We went to a seafood restaurant. I ate until I was too full that I cant even move. The next day was Pongal, so my sister and I went to cinema to watch Nanban. Thank you Anne and Akka for making my weekend memorable! Love you both a lot <3 (Unfortunately, I did not snap any photos =( )

Part 2

So since there was no celebration on the day, my friends, Jessica and Shirley decided to celebrate a surprise birthday for me. After Mid-Sem we went out to relax ourselves and to do some CNY shopping for Jess. So before the shopping, we decided to have cake in KL Sentral Secret Recipe. I being a smart girl figured out they want to surprise me. I was like smiling. Then the waiter brought the cake and she didn’t light up the candle. So we had to wait for the lighter. Then they sang me Happy Birthday song softly, (it was crowded and kind of awkward to sing loudly)I made a wish, cut the cake and fed Jess and Shirley cake.

After that we went shopping. We met Cindy akka after shopping, had dinner with her. Then Jess said she wants to buy a handbag, so we all went to a bag shop. They asked my opinion on a bag, I also said it nice and all. So Jess bought the bag.

All done, we went back to Shirley’s place. We were staying over in her place that night. Both the noobs were urging me to go and bathe. When I was back, they surprised me again (this time it really worked) by giving the handbag they bought just now. I was seriously shocked. I never even doubt that the bag was for me. Nevertheless, I was very happy. Thank you babes!!! Love you all very much <3

Part 3

I was back in Penang for CNY break and since I told my mum that I missed celebrating birthday at home, she organized a very small and simple celebration in my uncle’s house for me. That’s why I love her very very the much!!! =D

My sister was back for holidays too, so both my mum and sister did all the preparations.

We went to my uncle’s house. My aunty and her son were there. My cousin sister and my nephew were there too. I cut the cake and we had a simple dinner. Although I was a simple one, I really enjoyed myself and felt so happy to be able to celebrate my birthday with them, though late. Thank you very much Amma for that!

Overall my birthday celebrations were awesome. I had a great time all of them. And I really appreciate all the efforts my family and my friends took to make me feel so blessed and happy on my day! LOVE YOU ALL WITH MY HEART!!!

Lunch Outing =)

My dear readers, I know its not like I have many readers, nevertheless, I am very sorry for not updating my blog for a very long period. Blame my laziness! It never leaves me.

So I don’t want to waste my time and your time by having a History class of what happened in my life for the past few months. Without beating around the bush, I will talk about my current life.

Semester two has somehow ended. It was such a dreadful semester. This week marks my first short semester. Lets hope this semester will be a better one than the previous one.

Jess, Shirley, Nandni and I came back this Monday to campus after a very long (one week only) break to register ourselves. We met our mentor Mr. Raffi. He wanted to go for a makan session, so he asked us to plan one.

Yesterday, I am supposed to attend a very important class which will be taught by a very important lecturer. Whether I am excited for myself or not, my friends were so excited for me. But to bad class was cancelled. I am supposed to attend the class this Friday. Lets see what happens. But honestly speaking, I don’t know why, I am looking forward to the class, maybe curiosity.

Since Mr. Raffi wanted to go out with us, we chose today and the place was Papa John’s. We met sir after our class and he took us there. We enjoyed our lunch. Today was an awesome day because we were all sharing our school stories with sir. It was fun. Based on the stories; Jess was a ‘budak baik’, Nandni was a ‘big don’ and Shirley and I were the ‘gangsters’in school those days. Hahahahahahaha.

After crapping we suddenly remembered it was Pink Day in Baskin Robbins. So sir suggested lets go have ice cream as desserts. Sir treated all of us ice cream. Thank You Sir.

We enjoyed our ice creams there, then headed back to MSU. Sir dropped us off in Tesco. Jess and Shirley accompanied me to Tesco, because I wanted to buy something. Then Jess dropped me back home. That’s all for today.

Next outing will be a movie outing I guess. Next week Wednesday. We still haven’t decide what movie to watch. Never mind got one more week to decide. Hehehehehehe.

Simple Review on Nanban

Today's was a movie day. My cousin Priya akka, 'belanja'ed me Nanban movie. Had a great time. And my cousin, Shanker anna bought durians for me. I was craving for durian since last year. Today the crave was satisfied! Wohooo!!!! I ate until I was too full. Hehehehe. Thanks akka and anna!!! Love you guys lots.

So here's a simple review on the movie. Btw I am a die hard Vijay fan! =p

The movie was an entertainer from start to end! A movie worth watching in cinemas. A great movie to be watched with friends and family and suitable for all age group.

All the actors did a great job and I think they managed met the viewers expectations. I can safely say director Shankar made a successful remake.

Though the movie lacked an originality (I know its a remake =p ), in other aspects the movie was great.

My overall rating would be A+. =D

Definitely a must watch movie!

Surprise for Shirley

The next event after new year was Shirley’s birthday. Jess and I planned for it few weeks before new year but was kind of confused because we didn’t know what gift to get her.

So on the 2nd Jan, eve of her birthday, Shirley texted me, asking me to stay over in her place. I lied to her that I am coming back late night with my cousin and can only stay over in her place on Tuesday (btw it was Jess’s idea).

I came back from Penang around 3pm and was waiting for Jess to prepare for our plan. She came to my place and picked me up around 8pm. We went to Tesco first to get Shirley her gift. Then we went to Giant to buy other things.

Before our shopping we had ‘cendol’. Btw it was tasty and I recommend it.

We planned a prank for Shirley, so we went to Giant to get the things then went to Kings, got her a cake. All shopping done, we went back to my house. I wrote some long essay on the birthday card and Jess was busy wrapping the gift. Then we got ready, packed all our things and left my place around 12am to go to Shirley’s house. Before leaving we both sent her a text wishing her Happy Birthday.

After arriving at her place, outside her house we lite up the candles on the cake and we shouted her name in front of her house. Shirley was in her room, so her housemate opened the door for us. Then, the moment she greeted us, we sang Happy Birthday. We went to her room and saw her Skyping with Sendrew. So we asked her to cut cake while he was on Skype. Unfortunately we forgot to snap photos, so we faked the cutting cake session to snap photos!!! Hehehehehehe…..

After that we asked her to fulfill our prank. She managed to fulfill it, but she was complaining all the way. We told her no present unless she does as we say.

We gave her the card and the present. I really hope she likes it (P/S: Just read her blog and she said she loves it). Great!!!

Then we talked and went to bed at 2.30am and next day we had class at 8am and it was quiz!!! When we talked, I asked about the surprise. It seems she found out that we were up to something because the text Jess sent her was very fake. Anyhow we still manage to make her surprised and happy. Hehehehe….I know, I am smart. =p

The next day morning Shirley prepared hot water and coffee and milo for Jess and me. We went to campus for our quiz.

After that we went to Subang Parade. ‘Lepak’ed there for sometime. Then we had our lunch in Kenny Rogers.

I am staying over in Shirley’s place for a month, so after our Biochemistry class Jess dropped us off at Shirley’s place. I cooked Maggi for Shirley for her dinner. Sorry babe, couldn’t prepare anything special. We were all very busy with our assignment and lab reports that we had no time to cook a proper meal. With that her birthday ended. =)

P/S: Shirley really hope you enjoyed your day with us. Love you lots darling! And dont worry about troubling k. Its nothing!!! <3 <3 <3

New Year & Resolutions

I know it’s too late to post about New Year resolution but it’s not my fault that MSU has its Mid-Sem exams during New Year season.

So as the title says, I am going to blog about my New Year resolutions. As far as I can remember, I have never had any proper resolutions for the past years, so this year I want to make some proper resolutions and I am going to work to achieve it.

I always have this superstitious mind that I must not reveal my resolutions cause I feel I will not achieve it.

Well I am still sticking to it. Hahahahaha……

But if by end of 2012, I am changed then I can safely say my resolutions are achieved.

Anyway I am ending this entry by a belated NEW YEAR 2012 wishes. HAPPY 2012 people!!! May this year bring more joy, wealth and health!!!

How 2011 Treated Me

Let’s travel back 12 months and see what significant events I went through the past 12 months.

January:

Well it’s a birthday month for me. I kind of enjoyed my birthday although I was still in depression. The special part was I got two cakes from mum and also dad. Thnx Amma and Appa. It was this lucky month that I decided to continue my degree with Bhaeravii. I was comparing some universities and ended up choosing MSU.

February:

It’s a wedding month in my family. I was quite busy preparing for my cousin brother’s wedding. It was a totally awesome event as I enjoyed myself with my cousins there. I cant remember any other significant event in this month.

March:

It was just an ordinary month. Nothing special. I postponed my enrolment in MSU to May (originally it should be March). And this was the month I had to stand firm on my decision to continue my studies and persuaded my dad to accept my decision. I also helped my school to do a booklet for its 50th anniversary.

April:

Well its was a preparation month. Both my sister and I were to head to KL the next month to continue our studies. Mum was helping both of us to prepare as much as we can. Dad was busy arranging the transport and financial issues for us. I was busy looking for a house in Shah Alam.

May:

May was a hectic month. I did tonnes of packing. I was travelling here and there. Had a difficult time looking for a proper accommodation in Shah Alam. All settled, I went for my orientation week and bridging class sessions. That was when I met my two soulmates for BBM. Hahahaha. And also I ‘ponteng’ed the two weeks bridging class and was having a nice soothing holiday back in Penang.

June:

Study month. Yea but I think I did all things except for studying. I mean I attended classes but I wasn’t in the studying mode yet. It was a good month. Got to know my friends better. Had some hung out session with my buddies.

July:

Shall name it as study month two. Yet I did not do any studying. I was still busy getting to know new people and was busy ‘lepak’ing. It was an average month. My parents came down to Shah Alam and fetch me and went to Wangsa Maju to fetch my sister, we whole family went to Ipoh for my cousin’s 21st birthday celebration. It was a good family gathering.

August:

Truly an enjoyable month for me. Sat for the 1st mid-term in MSU. I was quite satisfied with my results. Then had a major outing with my darlings to Midvalley. We also organized a surprise party for Sendrew. It turned out as a success with everyone’s help. We also celebrated Nandni’s surprise birthday in Chillis. Other than that, I had a week break for Raya, and I spent the week shopping for Deepavali with my mum. Hehehehe.

September:

A sedate month maybe. Jess, Shirley and I went to LCCT for Starbucks. Hahahaha. Actually we went there to send off Sendrew to India. The travelling to LCCT was a terrifying experience. We also had our very first Tanni Party. Awesome party it was. Totally enjoyed myself with my friends.

October:

Finals month. Had my finals for two long weeks. Guess this was the real study month for me. I revised and did my best. Then went back home for Deepavali. I did a small business, selling homemade cookies. I earned some money. Just enough for me to get a new handphone and some new clothes.

November:

Awesome month. I enjoyed my semester break. Attended cousin brother’s wedding in KL and also cousin sister’s engagement in Ipoh. Enrolled in new semester. I was kind of disappointed withmy first semester results. Hopefully I can get better results in the semester. We also celebrated Jessica’s birthday in a simple way due to some unexpected incident that occurred to me. Other than that, my family send off mum for a month India trip.

December:

Actually I have no words to describe this month because it was such an awful month. I had many unwanted problems from unwanted people. I learnt a very useful lesson in life in a hard way. But despite it I would love to thank Jessica, Shirley and Nandni for being there for me when I needed them. Guess its right to say they are my soulmates. And now I am ending the month cum the year with awesome company; MY FAMILY!

I don’t know if I had more downs than ups or more ups than downs. Overall it was a productive year for me. Also I had a very good chance of getting to know who really cared for me. It was a great year all together. I just hope 2012 will be a better year than 2011.

Some of the best photos of 2011. I only started taking photos after I joined MSU, so I cant find any photos before June. Hehehehe....

And here I am ending this post and year for a new beginning!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!

Mug Cakes

I was blog walking yesterday and stumbled upon a post in a blog about mug cakes. It captured my interest. Since I was too bored, so I planned to try the recipe out.

The initial recipe that I got hold of was of Chocolate Mug Cake and it required egg, and since my mum is not at home, my fridge is practically EMPTY. I had to ask my dad to buy egg for me. So while waiting for my dad I decided to try Vanilla Mug Cake.

I got the recipe from a website. What you need is:

Coffee Mug
Microwave
Flour - 6 Tbs
Sugar - 2 Tbs
Baking Powder - 1/2 Tsp
Salt - 1/8 Tsp
Milk - 4 Tbs
Oil - 1 Tbs
Vanilla Essence - 1/2 Tsp

The methods:
First mix all the dry ingredients in the mug.
Then add the other ingredients and mix them well with a fork.

This is how it looks like after mixing all the ingredients.

Next, put the mug into the microwave oven for 3 minutes.
Its optional to add a topping. For mine, I added broken chocolate bars on top of the cake right after I took it out from the microwave.

The broken chocolate bars.

After adding the chocolate.

Wait for a few minutes after adding the chocolate. Then spread the chocolate on top of the cake and let it cool down. Now its ready to eat.

This was the end result.

Okay, it looks tasty right. It was tasty but some improvements can still be done. I realised, in this recipe, the flour amount is too much. Next time I should reduce the amount of the flour. And I should also add a bit more sugar.

And after eating this cake, I was kind of lazy to do the chocolate version. So I decided I will do it some other time.

Anyway you guys can try it out and let me know how it tastes.
Good Luck! =)
