Fantastic! Happening! Exciting! Lovely! And finally TIRED!
What else there is to describe this year's Deepavali celebration that I had? It was the first year celebrating Deepavali in my new house. It was definitely a brand new experience for me and also not forgetting the most unforgetable celebration for me. Thats because as far as I know all this while I have been celebrating Deepavali in the same house. So this year it was a special Deepavali.
New house or old house, when it comes to cleaning the house for Deepavali, there is always lots of cleaning to be done. But I was lucky enough that I was not obliged to involve myself in the cleaning process as I was very busy studying in Nilai. Hehehe. But too bad I cant runaway next year. But I myself volunteered to decorate the house(its a routine every year). Huhuhu. So at last I too did my part.
On the day: Whoa whoa... I would say there was more than 50 guests who came to my house. It was a very nice and also somehow satisfying despite all the work when I was attending the guests. Early morning before the guests arrive, I went to temple with my mum and sis. And of course not forgetting I collected my angpows from mum, dad and my bro. Hehehe...
My brother's, father's, Sister's and mother's friends came to our house. I did invite my friends but too bad none was free to come. Anyway I cant blame them. So basically on that day my mum just cooked rice and vegetables. The mutton and chicken curry was catered. So what was my work that made me tired? Wondering eh? Well it was frying chicken and make juice. Hehehe. It seems like easy job but it was really a tiring work. Moreover I never get a chance to sit. It is like after a long time we are celebrating Deepavali this grand.
The next day of Deepavali was another great day. Morning we went to my dad's brother's house and that day afternoon we started our journey to Ipoh to visit my mother's side of relatives. By lunch time we reached my uncles house and had a wonderful lunch. There was various types of food served. Hehehe. That day evening we had a birthday party to attend. It was for my nieces. The party was a great success. My cousin Kavitha and I managed to perform a song for the audience. Well my relatives said our voice was very good. Hehehe. Need singer for your parties? You guys can always call me. Hahaha..
The next day which was a Monday was spent at home by just having a lunch with all my relatives gathered at my uncle's house. The best part was each and every dishes on that day was prepared by different person. In another words, everyone was involved in preparing the feast. Other than that we celebrated a suprise birthday for my cousin sister's husband.
Tuesday was another fun day. We were very excited because we planned to go to The Lost World of Tambun. Our bad luck we didnt know that the place was closed on Tuedays. So instead we went to a waterfall and enjoyed the cool water there for few hours. That night my relatives and I went for a movie (Adhavan). The movie was ok la. But the best part was watching it with my cousins and joking and laughing. It was a memorable time.
So the last day in Ipoh, Wednesday was good day too. That day too I had a programme, which was ear-piercing ceremony for my nieces. They was not that scared, only cried during the piercing time, other than that they was enjoying all the attention that they got. And 5pm that evening, my mum, sis and I went back to Penang.
I really had wonderful Deepavali celebration this year with my wonderful family in my new house and with my relatives in Ipoh. I had a great time with my aunties, uncles, cousins and not forgetting the little kiddos (my nieces and nephews) in Ipoh.
The only sad part was that, the next day Thursday my mum was admitted in hospital because she had very high fever and her diagnosis was skin cellulitis. I gues its due to too much travelling and too much work for the past days in Ipoh and also in Penang. Thank God I was there to help here when she was in the hospital. And by God's grace she is back to home now and getting better.
Overall I never experienced this kind of wonderful Deepavali in my life before. It is one of the unforgetable celelbrations in my life. I hope I will have a similar or maybe even a better celebration for the coming years with my family, relatives and friends.
